The Construction Industry Is Paying Attention

CLAWZ Recognised as a Finalist at the 2026 CCF Victoria People & Training Awards

CLAWZ, the Contract Compliance Platform developed by Level Playing Field Lawyers, has been named a finalist in the Innovation & Technology Excellence (Team) category at the 2026 CCF Victoria People & Training Awards — recognising the firm’s work to translate construction legal expertise into practical infrastructure for contractors.
The recognition centres on CLAWZ, a Contract Compliance Platform built as revenue protection infrastructure for contractors and developed with the support of the Level Playing Field Lawyers team.
For a construction law firm, building a compliance platform is a deliberate extension of the legal insight the firm applies to contractor disputes every day. The recognition validates both the commercial problem CLAWZ was built to address and the value of putting that expertise directly into contractor workflow.
As CLAWZ continues its early rollout, the platform is now engaging with contractors who want stronger systems around notices, deadlines and contract records before revenue is put at risk.

What the Recognition Means for Construction

Level Playing Field Lawyers works with contractors and subcontractors across Australia on construction disputes, payment claims, variation recovery and delay claims. The pattern across those matters is consistent.
The work was done. The entitlement was real. But the process failed to protect it. Missed notices, fragmented records and deadlines that passed while the project kept moving — by the time legal advice is sought, the commercial damage is often already done.
CLAWZ was developed to address that problem before it becomes a legal one.
Since launching in 2025, CLAWZ has been working with construction businesses to strengthen commercial discipline, identify risks earlier, track contractual deadlines and reduce reliance on memory, inboxes and disconnected spreadsheets.
The recognition points to a broader shift in the industry. Contract compliance is no longer just a legal matter. It is a commercial safeguard tied directly to cashflow, project control and long-term business resilience.
That is what Level Playing Field Lawyers set out to build.
As a CCF Victoria member, Level Playing Field Lawyers acknowledges the CCF Victoria for recognising contract compliance technology within its Innovation and Technology Excellence category — and for treating it as the commercial priority it has become.

Why a Law Firm Built a Compliance Platform

The decision to build CLAWZ came directly from legal practice. Level Playing Field Lawyers has represented contractors and subcontractors in construction disputes, Security of Payment adjudications and commercial negotiations. Across those matters, the firm consistently encountered the same underlying problem: contractors who had a legitimate entitlement but lost ground because the process around it was not strong enough.
Time bars activated because notice was not issued in time. Payment claims weakened because records were scattered. Variation entitlements contested because instructions were never formally documented. The legal response to those situations is often difficult and expensive. The earlier response — building a process strong enough to prevent the problem — is better for contractors. CLAWZ was built from that insight, translating what the firm learned about construction disputes into a practical system that helps contractors protect their position before a dispute starts.

A Practical Compliance System Built for Construction

Construction projects move fast. Contract obligations are often time-sensitive, technical and unforgiving.
A missed notice, delayed response or undocumented instruction quickly becomes more than an admin problem. It becomes a commercial problem.
For many contractors and subcontractors, compliance is still reactive. Teams rely on memory, inbox searches, spreadsheets and fragmented internal processes while also trying to deliver the job.
CLAWZ changes that process.
The platform turns contract compliance into a structured workflow that sits inside daily project delivery. It gives project teams earlier visibility over deadlines, notice requirements and commercial risk points before they escalate.
With structured deadline visibility, notice workflows and compliance prompts built around live project conditions, CLAWZ reduces the admin overhead that causes contractors to miss deadlines and lose ground on claims.
The goal is simple: more control, stronger records and better commercial protection.

What Comes Next
Being named a finalist is a significant step for both CLAWZ and Level Playing Field Lawyers, and a strong signal that the industry is paying attention to contract compliance technology.
For contractors, contract compliance is no longer something to deal with after a problem appears. It is part of protecting revenue, managing risk and staying in control of the job.
As CLAWZ continues its rollout, selected early adopter contractors will have the opportunity to engage with the platform, provide practical industry feedback and strengthen the systems they use to manage contract compliance across live projects.
This recognition reinforces the need for stronger commercial systems across construction. Level Playing Field Lawyers and CLAWZ were built to support that shift.
