Danying Chen Recognised in Future Legal Leaders 2026 and Appointed Head of Litigation

Over more than eight years in the legal profession, she has built a strong reputation for advising on complex construction disputes, Security of Payment claims, contract administration and insurance litigation.
Since joining Level Playing Field Lawyers, Danying has played a key role in supporting clients across technically demanding matters involving subcontractors, builders, developers and other industry professionals. Her work has included disputes arising from major commercial developments, infrastructure projects, wind farms and medical centres, giving her a deep understanding of the practical and commercial pressures faced across the construction industry.
Beyond her technical capability, Danying is recognised for her calm judgement, strategic approach and ability to guide clients through difficult matters with clarity and precision. She has also made a strong contribution within the firm through mentoring, leadership and her commitment to maintaining a high standard of legal work.
Her appointment as Head of Litigation marks an exciting next step and reflects the leadership she has already been demonstrating in practice. Having progressed from Senior Associate, Danying now steps into the role at a time when her experience, capability and judgement are already well established within the firm.
Danying’s background in both law and commerce allows her to approach disputes with a strong appreciation of both legal risk and commercial reality. Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, she also brings an added depth of connection and understanding to a diverse client base across the construction sector.
